I feel distinctly young reading some of these.

Datsun Cherry - bodywork corroded before the engine failed.
Metro - Bought from new and broke down on way home from dealer...
Montego saloon .... stolen after a year...
Volkswagen Polo ... had been clocked and lots of problems but loved it..
Nissan Sunny ....
Montego Countryman 7 seat estate ... wheels stolen after 6 months...
Swapped for .. another Montego estate .... Broke down more times than I can recall
Rover 200 ....
Toyota Carina Solair. .. Air con in a car for a first for me..
Cavalier 2.0 Sri saloon ... loved it....
Peugeot 405 Sri ...very ordinary
Vauxhall Zafira. ... what a great car and so versatile...
Chrysler Grand Voyager CRD. .. drove better than you might imagine and a superb motorway family cruiser..
Peugeot 416 ... slummed it for a bit as it was wife's car..
Mondeo 2.0 diesel ..sounded like it was built by Massey Ferguson
Finally Mercedes C220 CDI Saloon ... loved it...
CLK 220 Coupe ... lovely but underpowered
SL 500 - Malcs
BMW325i Cabriolet ... no idea why I ever bought it ..hated it..
SL 350 ... Full of leaks and problems..

And now the E350 Cabriolet ...

In between all,of this wife had couple of BMW X3 and audi A3

1972 Austin 1300,probably had a rotten rear subframe but it didn't matter as I wrote it off 2 weeks after passing my test in it.
1973 Austin A40 tried to mate it with the rear end of a taxi on the A40,conveniently opposite a scrap dealer.
1975 Humber Sceptre,used to try to self destruct at around 60mph.
1976 Austin 1300
1978 Escort 1600 Sport,sold it pdq after finding it was bent.
1979 Spitfire Mk III,great fun.
1982 Mk II RS2000,great car.
1992 Scirocco GTII
1994 BMW 320i
1997 Mazda MX-5

2000 BMW 328i Sport Coupe,good car.

2007 MB CLK 320cdi Sport,was the best ever until the E500.

In Thailand we have an Isuzu 2.5d pickup truck,which is a big cumbersome beast but big is good out there.

'Er indoors has had 4 Nissan Micras(2 written off)and currently drives a BMW 118i

MGB Roadster - Didn't like it much, looked better than it went.

Capri 2000 - Miles better than the MGB

Triumph 1300 - Sold the Capri to get a deposit for a flat and this was all I could afford, but the flat was a far better financial move than keeping the Capri!

Cortina 2.3 Ghia Auto - for some inexplicable reason I loved this car but so did rust, it just seemed to disintegrate before my eyes.

Fiesta 1.1 - basic car for town driving, fuel consumption seemed like a miracle after the Cortina.

Renault 5 Turbo - Amazing pocket rocket but fragile, not a good long term ownership proposition and so....

I sold it and got a newer Renault 5 Turbo, but again not for too long.

Peugeot 405 diesel - Company car.

Volvo 960 Estate Auto - Family getting bigger.

Renault Espace - Surprisingly reliable.

Ford Galaxy 2.8 - Good car but liked a drink.

Renault Espace Auto LPG - The most unreliable car I ever owned, went wrong almost every single month, seemingly the only part that didn't fail was the LPG system.

BMW 525d Auto - Not as good as I expected but OK.

Ford Galaxy 2.8 LPG Auto - Great car except for the gearbox failures!

Ford Focus 1.6 - Much better than I expected it to be, probably the best value for money and all rounder that I ever owned.

Ford Galaxy 2.8 - As above but manual, still got it as a workhorse.

Saab 9-3 Turbo Cabriolet - Good car, rejuvenated my wish for wind in the hair motoring (well what's left of my hair).

Mercedes CLK 500 Cabriolet W209 LPG - still got it, nice powerful wind in the hair cruiser.

Mercedes ML500 W163 - I hate to say it but this was awful, sold it after only 3 months, but I think I had a really bad example, it was meant to be my Galaxy load lugger replacement, haven't completely ruled out trying another one.

Saab 9-3 Viggen Cabriolet - Got it very cheap, surprisingly fast, I would guess about the same as the CLK 500, not sure whether to keep this or the CLK 500 ???

Yeah I've liked my Jags since I first saw my uncles 1991 XJ Sovereign when I was a nipper... My first Jag was actually a spitting image of his - same colour and everything. My dad had a Fiat 126 for most of my childhood so my uncle turning up in that Jag kind of set the tone for me and what I wanted when I got older...

Don't really like the new ones though... Seems Mercs are more my thing now so we now have 2 of them in the household!

The S430 was LPG and I did not get on with the LPG experience (I find LPG a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it). It did give V8 power for running costs only a little higher than a diesel though.

I've probably missed a few bikes and cars but that's what I can remember right now starting from my Seat Ibiza when I first learnt to drive, in fact I had that car when I was 15 Had that little lot and I am 35, longest running cars were my first Renult 21 at 17, I loved that car, it seemed to have the acceleration of a space rocket for a 17 year old! Had that for a couple of years. I loved my ph2 21 turbo too, very memorable car. Next favorite was probably the 300zx, I had that for a whiles, loved it to bits. The porsche was nice although I spent far too much money on it. Of course I love my CLK now
