Just curious, but why would you want to 'debadge' a Mercedes?
I'm glad someone asked that question as I have often wondered what it meant too

Nothing at all...but that would be far too reasonable.
When specified from the factory is the glass darker...or is it a film too?

I suppose the extra four week wait would not bother you either??? It's probably more annoying that when the OP was already anticipating a new car, that he then gets a right royal kick in the nads, when Mercedes cannot even deliver a somewhat simple order, correctly OR on time. A car is usually the second most expensive thing the majority of people buy and when spending such money customers have a right to get what they ordered - when they ordered it. If I performed in this way at work I would NOT expect a ''shrug of the shoulder' and a 'Heyho' attitude to get me off the hook.
They'll fit a film tint and remove the badge. Whats not to like, the car will be as orderded, darker windows and debadged.
There is getting what you want, and there is being deliberately obtuse about going about getting what you want.

Mercedes dealers walk all over us post-sale and use legal weight when required. No point letting them off with it pre-delivery.
The more we stick to our guns pre-delivery then we all might get better service in the end.
MB stands for Mercedes Benz, the dealers are slowly turning this into More Bull****
Would a dealer applied film-tint be covered by the car's MB Warranty ?
Deliberately obtuse?? Is it not reasonable when buying a vehicle around £35000.00 that you get what you order when you expect to get it? Should the personnel involved not take care when ordering an object of this value? Is a customer not entitled to any level of competence? Maybe one should only expect to get what you order at the 'Chippy' or 'Argos' and not at probably the second biggest purchases of one's life.
And as for deliberately obtuse - if the dealer was able to do his job with a modicum of professionalism.....
You should never go in guns blazing and being reasonable is always the best policy. My issue with your post ST4 is that i do not believe the original poster is being deliberately obtuse. Or do I think that asking for what you wanted in the first place is deliberately obtuse. The OP should point out the negatives of the situation and how they have come about through no fault of the OP, and ask what MB will do to rectify the situation.
My main point is that no matter how much money is involved these days businesses take for granted customer's good grace and that they will get the business no matter what. That is why when members on here get good customer service (like I do with Harrogate) we rave about it, and, when we don't, we voice are discord.( ie Belfast)
