I've got a 2006 A170 that sometimes won't select drive (if I'm stopped) or slips out of drive into neutral at low speed - has anyone have an idea what is happening, and if it will be expensive to fix?

A few weeks back my car decided to stop driving; their was power available but there was some sort of lock on the transmission or gears. Anyway, after loading it onto a flatbed truck, Mercedes repaired the car by fitting a new Transmission Control unit to the gearbox. All sorted I hoped. However...

Just picked up a 1984 280E Auto and love it but is has a few little niggles and quirks.
The main one that concerns me is when in Drive the engine revs drop a little when I'm at standstill. Not really an issue...
Yesterday, I have some time of work so I thought I would just for a drive. I have not done this in years and I have missed the sensation of you and your car in perfect harmony. Listening to that 6.2 V8 growl it's way through the countryside.

Just collected it after having the Electro Plate replaced as the temp senso and speed sensors were showing faults..
Gear chages really nice and smoothe and changes at the right revs without issues now, and starts again...
