Hi all,

I don’t expect anyone will have an answer but I wanted to share an issue that may affect other MB vehicles of a certain age when used in conjunction with new Google Pixel 9 phones.

I just upgraded from a Google Pixel 6 Pro to a brand new Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 6 (now traded in) worked fine with my Vito W447 infotainment system connected via Bluetooth. However, the new Pixel 9 models do not generate a passkey prompt when pairing and can therefore not be connected via Bluetooth.

Google have been troubleshooting the issue with me for a few days now but none of their suggested fixes and workarounds have worked.

I could return the phone for a refund I guess but I will probably find an interim solution OR upgrade my MB head unit to something aftermarket.

Are you getting the head unit to try and find your phone and connect to it?

Or are you asking your phone to find the head unit and connect to it?

My Iphone 14 pro had issues doing it one of those ways but worked the other way (can't remember which now) :)

Good question but sadly the new Pixel phone does not see “MB Bluetooth” at all so it is not discoverable. It sees other surrounding Bluetooth devices no problem but it’s like the Mercedes doesn’t speak New Google

My work phone is an iPhone 13 and that connects just fine.

Cheers

Geoff
