2019 Shooting Brake - Water Leak

Hi,

I own a 69 plate shooting brake and appear to have a leak.
When I open the boot there is water dripping from behind the plastic and the ‘Boot Close’ button is also wet.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Water entered the inside of the tail gate on my R Class under the plastic chrome trime across the top of the number plate. The ally captuve nut holding the trim had corroded so the trim was loose ....

I’ll check it out however the number plate isn’t on the tail gate itself.
In the attached photo as an example, there is water behind the plastic and when in an open position is dripping out

Could it be washer fluid from the rear wash wipe?
