You can also call the AA and they will do it for you at the roadside whether you are a Member or not. They will charge but I understand it is a fixed price and it's certainly a lot less that what MB are likely to stick a gun to your head and demand. As you only drove a short distance the engine won't have suffered any damage and once it's refilled with diesel and has been run for a while, all should be well. I wouldn't use this as an excuse to sell the car. And by the way if anyone else finds themselves in the same boat and realise it BEFORE they start the engine, then DON'T start it. Push it away from the pumps and then call the AA straight away. Because this is becoming such a common problem, they have specialist patrols that only deal with misfuelling problems. I know it's no consolation but you are not the first and only person to have done it.
