Air Recirculation Not Working Or The Button For It Is Not Working

Hi folks,

Hopefully, someone can help me.

When I press the air recirculation button in my W204 (2008 C-Class), it does not seem to activate the air recirculation, and the red light definitely does not come on. Please let me know what you think may be the problem and possible solutions.

Best solution is to get it to an MB indy and get the live data read on STAR. This will tell you whether the switch is working, a control module is malfunctioning or a flap is not working. Post your location and someone will point you at someone near you.

I thought it might be a fuse, but from searching the Internet and this forum (and others), nothing like that came up, so, I asked a non-leading question on this forum with the hope that someone would know something.

I ran Torque (an app) on the car using an OBD, and no faults showed. Would STAR be more detailed?

Torque will not show any control module other than the engine and even then only a subset. This is true for any car be it MB, BMW, Audi, Vauxhall etc

Star is the dealer level Mercedes diagnostic that will read, test, reset and program every module in the car.

Any MB specialist should have STAR.

There are other cheaper diagnostic kits that may show what's needed (iCarsoft MB series for example) but not in the detail or with the abilities of STAR.
