Hello Everyone,
I am about to get a B200, '06 Auto. New to me...

The car has Audio 20 Radio/CD and Pre installation for Mobile, Universal. ( code 386 )

Does this mean I can connect via bluetooth a mobile phone and use the dash/steering controls to call, and save to memory?

Can I also play media via bluetooth a too?

Yes but you need to buy a bluetooth adapter first. It plugs into UHI connector your car will have as it has phone pre-wire. Range of bluetooth adapters: http://www.comandonline.co.uk/Cradles-and-Bluetooth-Adapters/

No to playing media via bluetooth.

Your other option is to change to the latest Audio 20 unit fitted to MY09> cars. It has colour screen, mp3 playback and full bluetooth built in so you dont need to buy a bluetooth adapter. The units come up for sale on ebay. To fit you will need this kit: http://www.comandonline.co.uk/NTG2-NTG2.5-converter-kit.html

MY09 Audio 20 unit for A / B class for sale on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aad553fee

Thanks for your rapid reply,

So, for phone functions, I have to plug in a "bluetooth receiver module" to the harness. Is that all I need to do?

Some of them appear to want to plug into a holster, will there be one in my car somewhere? ( not got the car yet)

Do they all function the same, or are some more technologically competent than others. Is the price point a good judge of quality of functionality?

Cheers

Best to read on Comand Online the description of each and compatibility of each one. Some of the phone specific ones cant be used in A / B class due to there not being enough space for some of the wider adapters, it will say in the description if so. Aftermarket option is the Viseeo MB2, and genuine MB options are the HFP and SAP adapters.

They plug into the UHI connector which on your car is in the armrest front drawer.
