TUC marched the troops up the hill, then down again, then clapped themselves on the back for putting on such a (useless) show. Took a few anarchists to liven things up and make the point that this Government has neither mandate nor support.

In these times

of greater "transparency", I fear it is now common knowledge that the senior Trades Union leaders are on 6 figure salaries and have not for some time worked "on the shop floor", which can't help their cred with the brothers.

Is is also worth noting that the new "more stringent" parliamentary expense claim system is to be filed because the boys and girls in the House say it is too complicated and bureaucratic. Well, welcome to the real world. You can not have the good corporate governance they would expect of others, combined with the relaxed approach they clearly intend taking for themselves.

So duck houses and wide screen tellies for duck houses would seem to be the way forward!

There is a mass protest this Sat/Sun in London from Embankment to Trafalgar sq, join in.

In the cool light of day and Sunday morning - with people injured - some quite badly, businesses clearing up, cleaning the streets and repairing the damage - are you still proud that you called on more people to 'join in'?

No, I thought not.........................

Do'h - the vehicles are registered in Spain - with Spanish registrations, Spanish ITV and Spanish Insurance - so how do you think paying roadtax and having an MOT in the UK, would work?

Discuss. Your explanation is awaited with interest

You would be best hitting your head off a brick wall, standing in the outside lane of the motorway or lying under a bus, the symptoms would not be as painful as the awaited reply ;)

Presumably the guy has TWO orifices - and he chooses to speak out of the one he sits on..!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There are lots of people who say the cuts are savage and will cost thousands of jobs. There are many who say without the savings we are up a creek without a paddle. Personally I thibk we need to live within our means. When I listen to the Labour politicians they say that all the Tory cuts are vicious and unneccessary and that they would not be so harsh. However I have yet to hear them say exactly what they would cut. Yesterdays protests were mainly done by people who wanted to show just how unhappy they feel about the coalition government. Sadly rent a mob turned up as usual and snatched most of the headlines in all the media. The cost of policing these morons together with the cost of cleaning up behind them will hit all of us and run into vast sums. Bit of an own goal I would say. Everyone still blames the bankers and says they should be taxed to death. However does anyone really believe that if their taxes were increased they would not simple pass that on to the rest of us ? How that would help is beyond me. I still havent understood why the RBS group and Halifax were not allowed to fail like any other business. Surely all their assets would have been bought up by the other banks and if the government had to put any money in then it would have been better spent in compensating the ordinary customers. If I had had shares in Lloyds I would be very unhappy with the merger then did with HBos.

Driving from

the Midlands to the Swindon gtg and back yesterday I noted the fuel prices at the wayside filling stations.

The most expensive diesel (a BP garage) was 144.9p per litre and nowhere did I get the impression that the immediate reduction announced in the budget had caused any beneficial effect at all.

Of course you are - your mastery of the Queen's English bears testimony to that - not a shred of doubt in anybody's mind.

And all cars with a Mercedes badge on the bonnet are German.

The whole reduction in fuel duty by 1p is a token gesture to the motorist, prices have gone up rediculously in the last few months, the govt will continue to screw the motorist regardless.

We have the greatest weapon here at our disposal for controlling the excesses of the Big Banks and the Oil and Gas companies, or indeed any other conglomerate that decides to profiteer from our need and demand for their products...and that is the internet, all we now need is a plan of action and decide which 'oil company'..example purposes only.. to target and boycott...probably not legal to do.. you know governments they have to protect their future and vested interests...but no one can stop an individual from withdrawing their support..or money

The good news is I just finished putting a 404cc diesel engine into my Royal Enfield, giving 160mpg.

The bad news is you don't have one. :)

What has the UK Govt got to do with the price of crude oil?
