Hello

My passenger door locking started playing up today on my W211 2004 eclass
It looks like its not going up as far or down as far as it used to (the pin on the door)
then it was going up and down really fast, i think this means the pump in the door is broken.

Anyone know how much they are from mercedes and how to get the door pannel off.

Any help would be appriciated

Thanks

The spring has broken in the electric motor in the lock.

I can supply the details of how to change the motor

hello malcolm
thanks alot for that mate, it looks like a pretty difficult job is it?
im worried about the rivits in the door lock.
and that cover under the door cover, how does this come off and go on without damage?
or is it all straight forward once the panels off??

thanks again

An electric drill takes the heads off the rivets in second using a drill almost as big as the rivet head. Rivet guns only cost around £7-8

A spray adhesive is used to put the foil back.

You could get an indie to do it for you if you are unsure, do you have one near you

I have sent you the remove door handle paper,I forgot that

I will be out for some time tomorrow, but home in the late afternoon.

With the rivets, just dill the heads of,drill the same size as the head, and take the head off. then put a large screw driver in between the two pieces and lever apart, the remains of the rivet can be pulled out from the rear

thanks for your help guys, removing the door panel was easy.

removing the door lock was abit of a nightmare,
in the end i went to a coachworks company to get it done, they charged me £20.00 to fit it which i was happy with.
The hardest part was the white guard which goes inbetween the door handel and the unit, we ended up leaving this off it looked like a dust guard but wasnt alot of dust on it so thought it would be ok without it, thanks again for your help mr television couldnt have done it without you.

Hi,

It appears I have the same problem with central locking on my 2004 E class. The drivers door button jumps up and down when I attempt to open or lock it and when you set off and the doors auto lock.

Really would appreciate the details on how to fix.

Thanks Brian

Central locking crazyness

I've got the same problem. The drivers side lock was replaced by the previous owner, but now the passenger side lock is acting up.
Can I have the info as well?
