Central Locking Problem & removing door pannel W211

Hi, I've just got exactly the same problem on my A Class, where the passenger door central locking knob is jumping up-and-down really fast. It's really annoying because it tries to lock itself as you gather speed. I realise it has something to do with a spring inthe motor but what exactly do I need to do to solve it. If you have anything, i.e. diagrams please can you send them to martin.fildesAyahoo.co.uk A=@

I also am having the same problem with my E-Class w211 E320 and the front drivers lock is going up and down several times and sometimes doesnt unlock at all and it sputters so and when I took it in to the dealership they said it was a 450$ fix so I wanted to try myself because it still works just very inefficiently! THank you if you do help me because I am new to the forums!

Took me about three hours. Most of the time was spent drilling out the two blind rivets and wiggling the old lock mechanism out and the new one in. I wasn't in a hurry though.

BTW, I tried opening up the old mechanism to see if it could be fixed. The problem appears to be a special spring that eventually breaks. I doubt this spring can be bought, so the only solution appears to be to replace the whole mechanism. Mine has survived 7 years/380000km, so I'm not exactly surprised it broke.

Not like they use to be! how many locks do we seem to be changeing, since whent from vaccume 203, 209,211, not getting any better.

When the instructions ask you to remove the cylinder lock (worded something lke that), pull off the rubber door seal and insert a tork bit through the hole to undo.
