I need to replace a front tyre and usually favour Michelins which I buy from Costco. However the current version appears to be a pilot sport 4 which has improved fuel ratings where as Mercedes still only recommend the pilot sport 2 being an earlier version.

Are the Mercedes approved Pilot sport 2 better for a CLC than the newer Pilot Sport 4, or does it not make a difference ?

Thanks

Nikki

makes no difference. eventually 1 will be phased out as the other is a later variant.

Thanks, expect I will go for the pilot sport 4 on the basis that this version will be around for a while and I will be able to match when needed at future date. Nikki

Michelin Pilot Sport on my CL rears, they seem great but haven't had much use so far.

Don't restrict yourself to Costco (although I can understand why you might do!) but try tyreleader.com and etyres.com too, the latter is a home fit/ balance/ scrap old tyre service.

Some other posters will have similar suggestions for other companies, well worth shopping around as tyres are a bulk commodity item!

True Craig, there's mytyres and Oponeo too, used both and had good prices/availability/service from both...
