CLC HEADLIGHT/MIRROR SWITCH PANEL (POWERFOLD)

My powerfold mirror button which folds the mirrors out is broken on my 2008 CLC. (used to have to press very hard and jolt to work but now does not work at all).

Can this be fixed or is a new unit required?

I have seen the exact same unit on ebay from a MERCEDES C CLASS 2004-2007?

I would suspect its just a loose wire on the back of the unit rather than needing the whole unit replacing. You should be able to remove it and take a look at the back, could well be worth checking fuses just in case?

have checked inside, all wiring secure?

unable to remove panel completly. but the wing mirror fold out button looks as if it is an issue within the whole unit as there is no cable specific to that button

The chances are the switch is resistive, the same as a computer key board, if it is possible to spray some switch cleaner into this part, then it could fix it, but as has been said one from Ebay should be OK as this is not a common fault.
