I have recently become the owner of a 2020 model E220d AMG Line Edition Premium with COMAND Online.

I am gradually exploring all of the bells and whistles of which there are many!

One of the things that I am finding more difficult that others is the Sat Nav.

I used a TomTom Go 6200 with live traffic updates and lifetime Map Updates in my previous car and have a number of destinations stored in this device.

Is there any way of importing the destinations POIs and routes into the Command Sat Nav system that is in the 220D or do I have to do this all manually?

Is there any way of linking the TomTom so that it shows up the central 12" screen on the 220D?

The installed system seems much more "clunky" than the TomTom would others with experience of both on this site agree?

Or do I have to bite the bullet and install the TomTom into the 220D

Thanks for any assistance

Regards

Michael

Congratulations on your new car. I have had mine 2years now and absolutely love every minute of it.

I have not used the TomTom you mention so not able to compare, but I find the Comand Sat Nav to be very good once you get used to it. The controls can be a little clunky but I use voice (linguatronic) and it is so easy. Activate directly from steering wheel and control all functions from there (either voice or mini track pad) without taking hands of the wheel. I know there is a way to save and re-upload data/settings via USB, but not sure if this works from other devices.

Never heard of the ability to map TomTom screen into the Comand screen. I know older models used to allow mirror screen for some phones if you could enable that feature. As I understand it, that is no longer possible and AndroidAuto / CarPlay are your only other options.

Hope this helps - enjoy!

My car has Comand NTG5*2 which is an older version than yours so this may not help.

I have an SD card to which I can save destinations from the SatNav. I also load a speed camera database to that card. Both of these files are .gpx files saved in a folder called “PersonalPOI”. I suppose if you can get a .gpx file from your TomTom you may be able to load it into your Comand but it may well be a long shot. Good luck!

There is no ability to import POI's into a 2019 and presumably the same with a 2020.

How many are we talking about? The only way is to "find" your destinations on Google maps again and then share them to the car from Mercedes Me.

I had to do this and it is far easier than doing it from the Comand nav screen.
