Did you just talk to the mercedes dealer or book it in and they done some diags and charge you. Its unlike a MB dealer to say no idea. if noncodes they usually put up a ticket with MB Germany.

You need a MB indy for this type of work.

I would say thats the job of the garage.
What garage are you using?... was this the MB garage.

Is there no voltage? Have you checked the fuses for continuity, are you handy with a voltmeter.

Have checked all the fuses , all ok. Fuse box in engine bay and passenger side floor area. I can’t seem to find wiring diagram for the engine , for sensor to ecu to check for Continuity . Have taken car from main dealer now. Can afford there rates.

Yes and good with a multi meter. Thanks
Please put up a picture of the dip stick you are using, with a measuring tape next to it.
the fault is no voltage at the level sensor block connector. Missing the 5 volts. Need wiring diagram ? Thanks

If it has a oil level sensor, then it may not have a dip stick. Is that the case on your car..?

Hi , the dipstick is the oil filler cap. There is a sensor where the dipstick should be in the sump.

Modern cars have a communication system called CAN bus.
I reckon the cars computer is unable to talk to the oil level sensor.

The level is fine, so it could be sensor, get the car to an indy, sensor, canbus, a good indy will see you right.....If you have a day perhaps a trip up the M1, some good indies in Nottingham or try another dealer, seems your dealer is pretty US.

Did the dealer even reset the code....

Hi there is no codes stored. It’s apparently the latest code reader they used.
Thanks

if a non MB specific code reader it may not read all modules, hence the need for a MB indy, good luck, could well be a simple fix that an indy has seen before.

Hi,

Since having my car recently serviced I have had the warning light on saying ‘Engine oil level, stop vehicle, switch engine off’. I have had the sensor changed by a local garage and oil level checked, but it still has the same fault. It does not come on immediately when starting the car but always by the end of my street so once I have picked up a bit of speed. Garage are out of ideas and have said take it to Mercedes. Annoyingly already cost me nearly £200. Any ideas much appreciated.
Hi, I am having the same issue. Recently did a full service and changed the battery in my car (A- class180d). I have had that message: “engine oil level, stop vehicle, switch off engine” pop up on my dash after driving about 5mins. The dipstick shows engine oil level is in range and the garage also tried reducing the oil level but no change. Please kindly let me know what worked for yours? I don’t want to pay for an oil level sensor change and then find out it wasn’t the issue. Thanks in advance
