The engine diagnostics light on my vito has been on and off a little over the past 3 weeks. No issues with performance until today.
Light hadn’t been on all of last week except Friday afternoon. Got up to speed on a incline and the engine performance dipped and I’m guessing went into limp mode, this lasted about 2 seconds before the engine cut out.
I quickly restarted the engine and the light had gone but turned around for home.
I have cleaned the pollen filter and air filter, I have also noticed a large pool of water below the pollen filter and my drain away areas were blocked. I have cleaned these out and the water has drained away. I’m not sure if this would of caused the trouble but just wondering if there is anything else I can try? My coolant sometimes says it’s low but been like that for a little while. Should I top it up or drain the whole lot?
Answers on a postcard!!

With warning lights flashing up on your dash invoking limp mode you should have by now a multitude of fault codes stored for your review, plug in your OBD2 code reader and read all the fault codes for a clue as to where the problem(s) may lie.

There are budget ones from £20 ish that provide basic functions through to popular DIY/entry level professional models in the £150-£300 price bracket and not something you should be evaluating in anger, most people, it appears settle for iCarsoft MB models as an MB specific code reader or one from the CR range for multiple makes of vehicles. You could have a look here, it should keep you entertained for a few days. https://ljmcardiagnostics.co.uk/?gc...rdKDHc8bR7-pdBd0A6ulURIUgedtBRj0aApTXEALw_wcB

Always a good idea to complete the details in your Account Details so members can recommend services close to your home location, if needed.

Was a streetwise OBD II. Very basic, not mine, was one a neighbour had. Just said one fault found of C0300.

If no members close you will need to get the codes read by decent diagnostic equipment. Annoying when the engine cuts out. What engine is in your Vito?
Is your coolant low visually? if not it could be the sensor on the bottle, mine did the same until i changed it.
