After all, we pretty much all fit non MB parts to our cars!
I don't think that was the problem. I suspect it was more about the OP being hostile about the indy refusing to fit parts he hadn't sourced and this is something I totally understand.
I have a friend who is a VAG specialist who won't fit parts supplied by owners unless he knows them well. The reason being that if the customer supplies the wrong parts he could be left with a vehicle stripped down in his workshop occupying a bay he may need for other work while the owner sorts it out.
He will fit parts for me as he trusts I will get it right.
As above though he won't warrant the work but that's something I accept.
I only use him for odd jobs I should point out as I normally do things myself but if time is tight or if it needs tools I don't have (presses for example).

Acid will happily do the same but he does stress they will not warrent the work so you could pay for the work to be done a d it won't fix the problem, just a risk you take.
Is your 270 a 612 or 647 engine?

On vindecoder it gives me this code for the engine :
612967 30 286619

Maybe you should read again mate to see who was hostile , i only said that 1600£ just for the manifold is way too much over my powers . And that I CAN BUY the part , never said i have it or i want to go with my part , i just dont understand why to pay double . If u were in my place u would have thought the same

I would never have been in your position so can't say I would have thought the same. Very simply you got a price, you didn't like it. If you want to query the price ask the person giving the quote. If you still don't like it move on.

LK correct, not a new part, ACMS will fit supplied parts on agreed basis with known customers with terms and conditions, I would not have referred if I had known,I have more context but have learnt my lesson and do not want a reputable guy having a trail on here saying that his quote for part was double when they are far from comparable
