    Hi guys,

    Looking for advice please.

To cut a long story short...

    -Bought a 2012 ML350 BlueTech
    -Had it remapped
    -Engine warning light came on
-Took it back to remap company
    - This is the code - 102100
    - He told me this is a battery capacity issue - battery test said running at 30%
    - Removed code and discussed ordering a new battery
    - I drove 150miles to my parents
    - Code came on again
    - Local mechanic thinks, Merc need to have it
    - Local mechanic said battery test said 80% ok

I can find the code online listed as - 102100 / 'Control module has an internal error' But is this a genuine battery issue or something more serious due to the remap?

Thanks guys and gals for your responses.

    Dan

Bought a battery for my ML a few months ago (Varta) for about £100 and it cured various transmission problems I'd had for months.

£100 is a pretty cheap for a diagnosis. If it fixes your problem it will also be a cheap fix.

You'll need a new battery sooner or later anyway...

so the car was ok before the map or did you not drive it very far before the map so the EML hadn't had chance to come on ?

Yes it was ok before the remap. I've had new battery today and so tomorrow I'll do a long run. It normally comes on after 1hr 45mins. So a long run tomorrow to test.

    Thanks,
    Dan

For anyone else getting this problem , provided my tuner with the symptoms and error code , he forwarded this info on to his map supplier quantum who immediately knew the problem and sent back an updated map which was re flashed , will have to wait till next long journey to see if resolved , unfortunately he didnt get the specifics of the issue with the original map so can't comment on the underlying cause , but suffice to say it wasn't 100%, but the after sales support from quantum was top notch as I only asked him yesterday!

Hi I think I have the same problem with my Merc ML350.
So bough the car a few weeks ago from a used car dealership after about a week the engine management light came on.

Done a diagonistic with my Autel kit and it gave a few error codes one of which is 102100. this made the EML go on.

I started to believe based on what I read on this form that the car has probably been remapped prior to me buying it.

Did someone solve this issues? It seem to come on after about 150 miles.

    Help pls.

Probably best using MB star for diagnostics or MB specific readers like icarsoft to gain some knowledge of what the fault is

Hi the Autel software should be just as good? for every manufacturer you need to buy the software which I did for Mercedes.

Does Icarsoft gives you more in depth knowledge about the fault versus the screenshot attached?

Mine appears to be fine since the second map was loaded , although I have only done one long trip of about the time it was taking to come on , I would suggest you take it to a reputable tuner and get them to re-map or load the standard map back on and see if it solves your problem , you autel is reading the code correctly as my xentry only picks up the same info

    Regards

    Nick
