Mercedes C180 Elagance. MG ZS 180.
Had a pair of the n'fera on mine ( front) for the last year, no complaints at all probs 20k, got a pair to go on the rear ( avons with 35k, 6k more than michelins!) even cheaper this year from tyre leader than last year, great tyres for the price (£47 each!)

I came across Dunlop sp Blue Response Eco tyres and swear by them. Reasonable price and grip, noise, wear and fuel ratings are far superior to a lot of the so called top manufacturers.

I'm absolutely sold on nexen. Been using them for last couple of years. Similar tread pattern to contis. Got them on all my cars now. Usually go for n8000. They are fantastic in all respects. Was a true conti fan before that. But these are just as good if not better!!!!

I looked at them but had difficulty getting them in my size, no where seemed to keep them in stock where as the nexens were? I think both these tyres are extremely similar

I assumed dunlop was more a premium brand or close to. Whereas nexen are mid range? Last time I got quoted on dunlop they were in premium price range unless things have changed!

According to most tyre places/online sites they are budget.. But then Kumho also used to be budget and their tyres are fantastic too and now has moved up into the midrange, like the look of the n8000 also.

I think I would have to wait for them to arrive to read the year code.

Camskill are very reputable. Have bought from them many times and never had a problem with the age!

Well as the Pug is in need of some new tyres and I can't get the N'Blue HD's in my size I've gone for a set of Nexen N'Fera SU1's, £279 delivered from TyreLeader and should be here Wednesday. Fitting will be Friday and I'm hoping they will be just as good as the N'Blue HD's, I'll update once I've done a few miles on them.

2003 ML270 sold but not forgotten. 2022 Kia EV6 RWD LR
My Nexens fitted to the ML270 have now done 56000km, a lot of it towing, and are still quite good to go. Probably 2/3 worn. Bit noisy is all but that is just due to tread pattern.

I have Nexens (forget which type) on the X Trail and I cannot fault them. Towing or cruising, wet or dry or snowy they have superb grip and excellent stopping power, never get a twitchy feeling like I used to with the Kuhmos on my old Audi. They aren't the quietest tyres out there but then it's not exactly the quietest car so... :D

Had new Nexens on my ML when I bought it. 255/55x19".

The upsides were that they were very quiet and reasonably smooth-riding. And Cheap.

The downsidwes were the massive reduction in overall grip (dry and especially wet). compared with "known make" all-season tyres.
The soft sidewalls that were responsible for the smoth ride, unfotunately made the turn-in very reluctant and the handling generally sloppy. The car understeered like a 1959 Mini on crossplys.

This may not matter to you if you drive slowly and value comfort above other perameters.

Basically, they are fine for a disinterested owner who (quite rightly) baulks at normal tyre prices, and not too dangerous in the wet.

I threw mine in the garage when I went down to 18" wheels in an effort to improve the ride on our third-world roads... The handling deficiencies I could probably live with, but the ride on 19" wheels I couldn't.

They will be fitted back on the day that I sell the car...

Interesting you had that problem Paul, my old S211 270 ran Nexen's for a few years each set lasting about 25k, performance was actually very good I found but do agree the turn in wasn't as sharp as stiffer side walled tyres I noticed that on my winter Cooper Tyres but it wasn't anything that put me off knowing the limit of my talent and the cars grip, I will admit I actually found them better grip wise than the Michelin's I took off, they were extremely slippy in the wet and the rear end broke loose very unexpectedly.

Agree there Craig, their not the quietest of tyres but the Pug has more of a problem with wind noise, tyre roar is actually pretty good currently and that's on a set of Avon's with a higher noise rating than the Nexen's will be :)
