Outside temp display faulty

Hi,

I noticed a few months back that my car's outside temp gauge was showing the wrong temperature - usually 5-10 degrees what it should be.

I noticed it after I had it in for a service - although I'm not suggesting it was related - only because the service didn't involve that - although they did change a control box for one of the lights.

Could this also affect the internal temperature - i have noticed that the internal climate controller does not seem to work as well ie: even when i set the internal temp for 25 degrees - the car can still be cold and i need to select 27 or higher.

Is it expensive to get fixed - i've spent a fair bit this year already - and could do without another couple of 100 quid cost!!!

Don't know for your car, but on the 211, the exterior temperature sensor is a little widget that sits next to the LH front fog lamp. Getting to it is an undertray-partially-off job: I reckon I could swap mine in about 15 minutes after parking the front wheels securely on some planks to raise it up a bit. The part is only £13.50 from Inchcape. There isn't much scope for anything other than the sensor - or perhaps moisture in the connector - to give an inaccurate reading, so it shouldn't be hugely expensive.

As above it should just be the sender behind the front bumper, some climate systems take some information from this sensor
