Parking sensors

I just bought a 2004 CLK but unfortunately it does not have parking sensors. I would be grateful for any advice on what sensors I should buy, rough cost, and how to install them.

Probably your cheapest option would be these

I have fitted them - although not to a Mercedes - and despite their low cost they are well made, easy to install and function perfectly (the warning beep is a little strident though)

They have the advantage of being colour coded to a range of vehicle colours and come complete with a saw to drill the requisite holes in the bumper. I don't know if there are any peculiarities of the CLK construction, but assuming you can route the cables into the boot area and tap the reversing light wiring, fitting is quite straightforward.

Usually anywhere in the boot behind a trim panel is fine. If you use the kit mentioned above you'll have no problem hearing it - it really is quite loud.
My installation was in a hatchback and even behind the tail trim it needs muffling with some foam to avoid heart attacks in aged passengers!

You get a single warning beep as soon as you select reverse, regardless of how far you are from an obstruction.
