Please help! How do I clear this fault??

I have no idea how to clear this fault. I believe the car thinks someone is sitting in the back seat however there’s nothing on the seats. I tried doing up seat belts but the 2 people change to people with seat belts on. I’ve tried putting the seats down and putting them back but I can’t get this fault to go away!

Can anyone enlighten me?

Hello and welcome,

That isn't a fault... the car is advising that your rear seat belts aren't in use... You might think why do you need to know this information... the answer is that you may have children in the back and as driver you have the responsibility for their safety... so if the little darlings don't put their belts on, or disconnect them when you're driving along the car informs you so you can do something about it.

The graphic showing belts not in use (or in use) disappears soon after startup and will only come back if the situation with the belts changes.

It clears itself after about 10 seconds, just ignore it

Yep, I even didn't find option for that in Vediamo/W212

They changed the scoring for euro ncap tests a little while ago. Features like this, lane departure, driver fatigue alerts, collision mitigation etc are becoming standard fitment to get those 5 stars.

Thanks all for the info! I’ll learn to live with it. If I click ok on the steering wheel it will go away straight away.

I’m pretty sure this car never used to do this before, perhaps it Changed in a software update.

Used to annoy me as well but don’t worry I don’t even think about nowadays after 6 years with the car, we seem to have gone from reactive to proactive warnings for some reason

If you press OK on the left steering wheel control button, it cancels it too.
