The seat have a pipe that comes from the PSE and it goes to a storage tank to cushion out the effect of anyone moving around in the seat creating a high pressure point, there is then one pipe that feed the front seats, if a pipe fractures it is right under either seat. The best way to tell is to just sit in the car with the key turned to on and see if the pump keeps running say once every few minutes.

I will finish off the roof thread

Horses and stables come to mind but for others ( there has been previous threads on this) its useful to know that you can buy small plastic keyhole inserts for the locks to stop dirt getting in, especially for the boot lock which gets a lot of muck thrown up at it over the years. Only costs a few pence from your dealer

dirt in the locks is an extra I don't seem to have on the 129. Is there a part number?

Does Wallace know what Grommet's doing?

Well I was thinking about selling them on Ebay for £10 per set of 3 all painted to match your car

Guys i have details of what pins to disconnect from roof module at work. I've had to do this a couple of times. I will get pin numbers for anyone with a problem in future.

Hi guys,
The procedure for opening the boot/operating the roof when the PSE pump fails is as follows
Disconnect plug no 1 from soft top control module 52 pin
Remove pins 33 yellow/white and 44 violet and orange at plug1.
Re connect plug to control module.
The roof will now open using the roof switch.

On the left of the spare wheel, that is next to the black round thing that you played with last week, the pump is on top and the PSE underneath

No it not. Thats the pump unit. The module is underneath the rear sam. Just undo the nuts holding the rear sam in and its the in front of you!

As this thread started with " I cant get in the boot" how does the solution help if the module is in the boot?? Surely these pins are on another module somewhere else in the car ( I hope)

PS Smilies have moved and now we have two x cool; 3 x surprised,:D

Just seen the answer but where is the rear SAM...I only recognise instructions on cars thgat refer to the normal things like seats and wheels!!

Thanks. I didnt know. I take it you have to move the seat right forward and take up the rear carpet. I know I have something under the cubby box behind the drivers seat ( took a look yesterday when cleaning the interior) ...whatis that?

A real time conversation..thanks Malc that answers the questions

Nothing under the seat at all on a 230 Steve, he was referring to the little boxes in the rear and that is not a rear seat

Its pretty un practical but it has seat belts on it. Only seats have seat belts fitted? Anyway thats where the module is and thats the procedure for opening the roof. It was a bulletin a good few years ago now. So its under the box which has seat belts fitted.
Hope this helps people in the future
