Hi All

Need some guidance on the wife's SLK, it's a 1998 230 Kompressor.

There is a fault with the indicators being that when indicating the lights just come om and donot flash, same thing if the hazards are turned on. This is an intermittant fault that has been going on for over a year, they can work fine for months and then stop for a few hours / days and then restart working again. I have replaced a small indicator relay (£9.50) a while ago, but to no result! If this was a Morris Minor you would just replace the good old fashioned flasher relay, but we are in 2009 and things are more complicated

All advise welcome and really need a solution - MB haven't been able to offer any real solution to the fault.

Black C55 / Television (Malcolm) are you still out there?

Cheers in advance

Malcolm

This flasher is built into the combined Control module priced at , wait for it £603

The good news is that the flasher unit can be replaced, the original is a Siemens A3001-A802 V23133 Its something that I could change for you, I am just trying to locate an replacement flasher

Indicators on 170s run through PSE pump in boot. Check for any signs of water leaks here first.

If one thinks about this it is correct as the pump is all part of the alarm and the flashers will flash when locked and unlocked

Thanks for input - I did the "mod" by turning the PSE pump upside down a few years back, so no water problems there.

Television (Malcolm) - any news on locating the flasher relay?

Thanks everyone for advise - MUST sort this intermittand fault out

Thanks for info - sorry to sound dim, but could you elaborate - what do you mean by rotor light switches?

Cheers

Your head light switch!

Fuse for the indicators is housed in the side of the unit, done maybe 5-6 in the last 2 years!!

Cheers for that - I guess there's no way of testing the switch, although worth changing the fuse. BTW what's the cost of a switch?

Cheers

Just a thought - as my indicators come on (but do not flash) would I be correct in saying that they must be getting power, so thus would this eliminate the fuse / switch

Cheers
