I have in front of me a Huge dilemma. Photos are attached so as you can see my dilemma. I was just putting into place a newer hydraulic pump when I happened to notice the caked up oil, carbon and gunge that I could now see more clearly in the inlet manifold.
So, I decided to pull out the manifold, clean out as much gunk as I possibly could and re install it. I've now done that and it is 80-90% better than it was and thoroughly dried out. I remember thinking that I should probably clean off the worst of what I could see into the engine while the manifold was out. Part of me now realise's why some don't go as far as I have. And then I think about how long I've worked on this, how much I've spent, and everything this has affected behind the scenes. I have learnt a heck of a lot. And to be honest it has now got me interested in possibly doing more work on mercedes cars locally or refurbishing some of the electrical parts and reselling them on.
Anyway. I would welcome all your comments now. And, once she passes the next Mot she will then be replaced before her Mot following this one with another Mercedes-Benz. I.E. either another newer version of the same or the E220 equivalent.
Sorry, I have posted before and after photos.
