Hi all

Restoring a W123 Coupé and have run into a difficulty with window scraper seals (front and rear both sides).

Apparently MB have discontinued these: I'm really hoping that someone here knows where we can get some.

Anyone have some for sale?
Is there a source of these somewhere else?
Would saloon rubbers be suitable? (Appreciate that they might need to be trimmed to fit - is the length the same for front doors on the saloon / estate? Rears obviously not...)
Are the rubbers the same for any other model? (Again, appreciate that trimming might / will be needed)
Anyone had any joy getting them custom made?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Many thanks

TravisMerc

Ps First post so hope it's in the right place etc!

They are still available, speak to Shaun Zealey at Mercedes Poole, he runs the Classic parts. The cost will make you wince though, £160 fronts and £354 rears. No one else makes them and no other part will fit I am afraid. I have a 230CE that I am improving, its not a cheap love affair.

Try Woolies, the trim specialists. They have some of comparable profile to W115 seals, and at £6/m.

Thanks all

Hiya

Found front window scraper seals for the W123 at £15 per side from The SL Shop (same as W126, apparently - not surprised) and they have gone in no problem. Longer than needed but just need cutting to size: much, much better than being too short!

Shaun at Mercedes in Poole is a very helpful chap but assures me that the rear outer scraper seals for the W123 are no longer available from MB. If he could sell me some I should happily pay him in unicorns.

kheath74, many thanks for your response: I feel your pain. Love the term 'improving' - it's all we can do to Bertha: she will never win 'best in show' but hey, we don't care! What we want is a W123 coupé that we can use a lot and thoroughly enjoy - which we are already doing. I hope your coupé brings you as much joy as Bertha does us.

Whoever said that there is 'nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes' certainly spoke the truth!
