W203 wiper and washer stop working

Wiper and washer pump on my Merc C200CDI w203 do not work. A mechanic connected his Bosch diagnostic tool and he could activate both so I guess the fault is either at wiper stalk, cable harness or SAM. Can anyone advise how I can isolate the problem. I don't know where the SAM is located. I look for SAM in Merc and Haynes manual but they mention nothing.

The stalk mate changed many. The front sam is the fuse box on the right side.

Not bad mate think £70/ ish. steering wheel off after removing air bag, three torx on squib ring !dont let turn round tape up if not got holding pin. cant remember if torx 30 or allen key on column.

Thanks for the offer. I found the instruction in Haynes manual. On refitting the wheel it says: Coat the steering wheel horn contact ring with a smear of pretoleum jelly and refit the wheel ......... Is this really necessary or I can skip this?

They won't work

if the bonnet is open. Does the car think the bonnet is open?

I guess so but don't know how to verify this. There is a clutch with a switch in the bonnet which you can push to make car think it's close.

I saw in one thread that W202 wiper stalk can be dismantled on the top section so the contact can be cleaned. Does anyone know if this is also true on w203? It looks to me that they can't be dismantled.

Only ever replaced them dont think can repair.
