Hi, new to the forum so apologies if this isn’t the correct area for my question/issue.
So I’ve got this problem where the radiator fan will just come on intermittently when the car is locked, I could wake in the morning to it turning on and off, I’ve had it in with an indi specialist but not showing any faults on star as yet, I’ve got an icarsoft cr pro and again not giving me anything to work off even when the fault is in action. I’ve had a new fan (a reoccurring fault code so replacement was needed), a new engine temp sensor (again fault codes suggested replacement), a new battery (old battery wasn’t holding charge) and yet the problem is still apparent, it isn’t all the time but common enough to be a concern. I’ve googled and read through many forums to no avail, I’m hoping someone may have come across this issue and have a simple fix to rectify it (wishful thinking I know). The next things the indi garage has suggested looking at, are the coolant temp sensor 1st as the values seem out, then onto the CAN bus, there seems to be a link between the aircon and issues with fans but both cold and hot air work fine and no fault codes are apparent, also an inspection of the SAM module has been suggested. It’s happened recently when it’s been cold/snowy/rainy but has also happens the odd time when dry and mild weather.
I can provide values on the system modules via my code reader if this is needed, any advice, suggestions or solutions to the annoying problem would be highly appreciated. Cheers
