Hi,
I've been suffering with a knocking from the front of my 2010 W204 C class going over pot holes etc. I've replaced the drop links but it is still there so I want to replace the anti-roll bar bushes but I'm struggling to find replacements. MB want to sell me a new torsion bar complete with the bushes :(
Has anyone replaced these bushes on a W204? If so, where did you get the bushes?
Thanks
Paul

You would need the exact dimensions but Powerflex may be able to help

Take one of the clamps off and take a picture. Put the clamp back on. Get them on Ebay to match the photo.

My S203 it was the same - the centre ARB bush is bonded to the ARB and could not be changed, had to buy the full ARB.

They are bonded onto the bar so Mb will only sell you the whole thing. However it is possible to remove the old ones and a custom fabricator will make new ones. Merlin Motorsport used to but that was a few years back.

They are not high tech. I would have thought that, once the old bushes are cleaned off, split replacements should be available from one of the alternative bush manufacturers. Even if the replacements have to be bonded or pinned in the correct place to stop undue arb 'compliance', that should not be too much of a problem.

Sight cheaper than the ridiculous total arb replacement cost!

I've got the same issue with my 2011 C220 CDI W204 had MOT last year car passed but they did mention on the advisory there was a knocking on-road test that needs investigating and turns out there is play in these two bushes which I think should have failed the car but because of the plastic cover, it's clear they couldn't be bothered to remove and inspect. However, it's completely mad that you would have to replace the complete bar just for a set of rubber bushes talk about Mercedes ripping you off. Any other car it would have been a simple replacement job but no Merc have to be twats and bond them in place. Like others, I've not been able to find replacements on the likes of eBay only second-hand complete bars seem are only available what a dam pain.

I know. Things like this makes you hate the brand. Anyway I think that some people cut the rubber bushings away from the sway bar with a circular saw and put aftermarket ones but I'm not sure of the result and in my opinion I'd avoid this procedure

I agree with you but I had a good look at mine today and I'm now not so sure this is the fault at least on my car as they both look in good condition. I think it's more that there is slight play in the anti-roll bar on my nearside as I know in the past I've had this same problem on a CLK and an S Class I've owned but the issue on mine at the moment is not that bad just seems to come and go IE doesn't seem to be that bad just an irritant at times. But I'm going to take a closer look at everything tomorrow and post any findings I come across but in my case, I'd be very surprised that the Anti-Roll Stabilizer Bar rubbers would be the fault the car has done 118k I'll admit but as I said from what I can see they look to be ok.

Even though it's suggesting this Febi 30299 Anti Roll Bar Bush can replace the old boned in type on a W204 C220 CDI after looking elsewhere for this same part it's suggesting they are not the correct ones? I've ordered these anyway so I'm now just hoping they will be ok to use but will post to let everyone know if it sorts the issue out. After checking out everything else on the car without finding anything can only think the knocking is just due to these rubbers getting too hard due to age and allowing any shock to be transmitted as a slight knocking from time to time as I can't seem to find anything else that might be responsible for it other than what I've already suggested?.

After doing a lot of checking around it seems you can't obtain the rubber bush replacements for the 2007-2015 C220 CDI W204 model and mine being a 2011 model. I've even checked with PowerFlex and they don't have them either although they are looking at doing them in the future so watch their website. It seems like many carmakers, not just Mercedes now don't do the bushes on there own only as a complete item ( Front Stabilizer Sway Bar Complete) at a cost of £139.20 including P+P from (Mercedes Newcastle-on-tyne) which I myself have now got from them Part Number (A 204 323 07 65). I know it's complete madness to spend so much money just to replace a pair of rubbers costing only around £30 to overcome a slight nocking issue. But as always we get ripped off for overpriced parts yet again. The bar diameter for anyone who wants to know and try to find such replacements if they can obtain them is 26mm. I did have one company on eBay tell me they had them for my car and were in stock at £35 including P+P but after two weeks of messaging to and from them I gave up I think they were just messing me around hence why I then had to then order the original complete part from Mercedes. Anyway, I hope this information helps out to anyone having the same issues although with knocking it could be anything as I've just had my MOT and passed without issue other than they said a slight nocking that needs looking into being the front sway bar in my case as I already know.
However, the only link I did find on eBay after I'd purchased my bar was this listing which I think you could get away with on the C220 as they are the same shape although you would need to find out the inner diameter of the bushes as I said the bar is 26mm so at just over £13 a pair might be worth a look.

Yeah easy to find correct items for the W203 model loads available for that model but the W204 which came after is the big problem other than a link I found which I think you could get away with as they are the same shape but doesn't state the inner size so would have to message them to ask. But at such a low price it's worth looking at better than paying £139.20 for a complete bar which is not needed to begin with. I've found the whole thing, to be honest very frustrating but only found this item after I'd received my bar from Mercedes or I would have given this ago first as a last resort.

Hi guys. At the risk of resurrecting the post, is this non availability of bushes only applicable to the c220? I've got a w204 320cdi and I'm thrown off by this. I'm seeing 26mm ID bushes as applicable to my front sway bar and no mention of this 'bonded centre bush'. Been a while since I was beneath the car, but Im certain there's only the 2 bushes in a fairly 'normal' manner.
Can anyone confirm before I waste money please?
https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/tedgum-15556387.html is what I'm looking at, but notice these aren't 'split' bushes....

I have the same issue with my S204 2008 T-Model it appears that 26mm is for the sport suspension and 25mm for comfort.
These appear to be what is needed.
Im not sure how easy it would be to split the old rubber from the anti roll bar and the brackets as the bush is vulcanised to the bar.
I think i will end up purchasing this one instead.

Alex, looks like your browser is searching the same stuff as me! Those Tedgum mounts look fine, but I'd prefer if they were split mounts. I'd rather not have to slide those over surface corrosion etc to get into place.
I like the idea of upgrading to a thicker Eibach, but do they come with brackets to suit a larger bar?
At a little over £100+vat from dealer, I think I'm just going to stick OE.
