Cautionary tale, mercs dont like aftermarket parts......
Sorry but after years of having mercs and keeping them for ever, I have been down the gsf. ecp route for many things long time ago and somehow they just fail after a year whereas the original part lasted 10-15. Its just not worth the time and effort on aftermarket for many things.
consider looking at the merc reanufactured parts website, you may be lucky and they have water pumps, the warranty is same as new, otherwise go to a deler and ask for discount, I always have done if you are on good terms they will give it.
