Use some hardboard to let the jack roll. Works on tarmac of other rough surface.
Great advice, thanks - will do from now on.
Now which new trolley jack shall I get?

Bought standard MB ones for the rear (for the next time, when both front and rear will be done), but Bosch pads for the front - local MB didn't have the sport version specified in EPC.

Thanks GLK, I asked because I have fitted MB front pads to mine and they seem to produce a lot of dust. I wonder if there are better, less dusty alternatives.

Yes, I had MB ones on before this change (the rear ones still are) and they do make an awful lot of brake dust.
Will see how these Bosch ones compare...
Planning to replace the calipers and discs/pads etc with an A45 kit or similar - the stock version looks lost behind the factory 18" wheels (okay now as my winters are 16")

3 sets of Red , some Red up front on father's old car and a full set of Green on a car 20 years ago.

That's 36 individual pads of satisfaction .

I decided to take the SL off SORN and get some use out of her. The consumer battery was flat, as usual, so a good charge overnight and a long drive today. Tomorrow I will have to give her a clean:(:(:(.

Used to have a C63...
SWMBO's Ovlov needed some considerable TLC, so left her disassembling the festive baubles, and went out to give it some elbow.

Wash, v light decon, and a light handraulic attack of A surfaces and flat-ish panels (them that collect cack) with some G3 colour restorer.

Then gave it a wee tickle with some G3 Pro Paint Sealant Spray I got on Friday... just to see if it's any good. (And to give her car a bit of protection, of course! :D)

Car came up ok for one that sits around a lot, and doesn't go far in between! The G3 Pro juice seems quite useful in terms of appearance - only tips are to avoid using it in sunlight / on warm panels, and to use very very sparingly. Will check its beady-factor tomorrow when it inevitably rains!

Excuse the UnMerc (another one! :(), but for a first pass speedomatic session, it'll do!
