Wiper Motor replacement needed?

Hi ; My ML270 ( 2005) has windscreen washer problems. They will not move under their own power , but do when I give them a hand ! the fuse is OK. Do I need to replace the motor or is there a mechanical issue? Can I get a second hand motor fitted?

Could be the motor or it could be the spindles are seizing up.

Hi.
They are known for getting wet inside, hence have dodgy connections,and start to seize up.
Remove wiper arms, you may need a removed tool for this, remove rubber trim along front of scuttle, two plastic nuts either end and then fiddle the scuttle grill out, it takes a bit of fiddling. Then remove lower cover which will reveal wiper linkage. Four ten mm bolts hold it all in, linkage comes out with motor in plug the wiring.
Either refurb what you have or buy another proved working unit.

The motor/teeth could be dry. Might need repacking.
