Hi All, just had my A160 2001 Auto Elegance 1.6 fail to get a new MOT due to the BAS / ESP light coming on when the brake pedal is first pressed after ignition.

Borrowed an iCarsoft MB II and cleared all the fault codes and the light still comes on, here are the 2 fault codes I get under DTC:

C1201
BAS release switch A7/7s1
DTC Status:
Fault indicator lamp on

P120104
The fault code is not found in the database

The garage I took it to replaced the brake pedal light switch (MA0015458709) but unfortunately that didn't fix the issue.
Next up they quote me £900 to replace another part, but I wanted to get a second opinion of what the issue might be as this is one repair worth more than the car. Just want to have the car pass its MOT.

I think its well worth going to a soecialist MB Indy before you spend £900.
If you are in London there is an A Class genius and he is very cheap.

Absolutely the best A Class expert. And cheap.
We do a 74 mile round trip ... hes worth it.
Changed my starter motor with a brand new Mercedes one for £326.
Lots wanted £1200 to £1400 as you have to lower the engine.

Dont be put off by the premises, he is very good.
You cant have swish premises in London and charge rock bottom rates.

Good workmanship ... spot on, first time fixes!
