Hi guys,

I have a 2018 C200 coupe which currently has two Jinyu front tyres, one EcoContact6 left rear, and ContiSportContact6 right rear. This is how it was when I collected it from the dealership.

The rear tyres are wearing out and will need changing in the next 1000 miles and I was wondering if you have any recommendations? Mercedes gave me vague advice saying if I was speeding in my car then it’s better to have ContiSports and if I wasn’t then it’s better to have EcoContacts and that they’re similar in everything else, is that true?

I’ve looked online and found very varied reviews contradicting the advice from Mercedes. A friend told me to go with the performance tyres on the rear and the economy tyres on the front, does that make sense?

I’m looking for tyres that have good grip, quiet, good mileage and fuel economy. I would really appreciate some advice.

Cheers!

I tend to prefer to fit the same model of tyre all round and currently have ContiSport 6s which appear to be an improvement on the 5s.
They're not cheap though, but ultimately its your choice and your money.
Its generally recommended to fit the tyres with the most grip at the rear.
You may find that your choice is restricted anyway, by the tyre sizes that you need. I would recommend that you check the handbook to make sure that the correct size tyres are fitted.

Replaced the front ones with Goodyear Eagle 1 Asymmetric 5 in May 2020 at 51,670

The rears are still 6mm ... no idea how.
