I like the fact that I can see that shiny star when I am driving along at the end of my bonnet. Makes me feel good, reminds me I am driving a quality machine!

Oh, and the vanity mirrors are also good that can be set to two postions; normal and x2 magnified...Brilliant!

The star is excellent I have to admit. I'd miss that, makes parking a doddle too

The self-levelling on a W124 estate. So efficient, and elegantly engineered, you don't even notice it working.

I love the fact that the steering wheel is so big that I can steer with my left knee when I'm multi-tasking...

I'm a bit negative about mine at the moment, but...

  • When reversing with windscreen washer on, rear one turns on automatically
  • If you turn the key in the ignition, the fan comes on, but turns off automatically a few mins later to save battery
  • Self closing boot door, great when you've just pulled the last of the shopping out.
  • Optional cup holders. Terrible place to put them (if they spill they'll destroy your transmission), but the mechanism is a sight to behold. I might make a Youtube video of it some day.

On My S320 W220 I am spoilt for choice, but the one thing that always get me is how the passenger side door mirror points downwards when you put the car in revers so you can see the pavement and your precious wheels.

Also seen on BMW's. Alas my car doesn't do it as a retro fitted rear park sensors and not the full parktronic system.

Very valuable feature. We have it on the E estate. Worth noting that it has an important extra feature. Remember the two buttons on the door to select left and right mirrors when you want to adjust them......?

After you have adjusted them, if you leave the left mirror button selected then the mirror will dip when you are in reverse as you have said. But if you select the right mirror button it does not dip -and that is really useful if you have to back up in a narrow road or drive etc (as you need to see further than you can when it dips).

I also like the other button that lets you fold the mirrors while moving if you get in a tight spot.

Also, if you have memory seats, the mirrors store the chosen dip position for each driver. All three can be different.

All can be done by the other driver using the other key, then 2 drivers can use any of the 3 stored settings to have a different driving position on a long run

Winter tyre max speed setting and warning.... winter tyres have a lower speed limit than summer tyres so when one exceeds their limit, MB have programmed in a function to politely warn the driver.

Good one Jack, and on mine it will stop the car from going over the set max speed.

Handy when the wife drives the car also, you could set it to 10 mph :D:D

Indeed Malcolm, I did exactly this, [set it to 30Km/h] the other day for fun and ... well, I did enjoy the first 10 minutes or so but when she worked it out [she doesn't drive my car too often] .... I know I'll kinda get it back with interest sometime ..... 15:Love is the score at the minute :p:p

Yes; but only on cars that have the option in settings to make the mirror positions key sensitive.

DAS is the drive authorization, and 111 is the latest version, and these in general are the cars without a steering lock

One of the many things I love about my W140 is that no matter how much it rains not a drops gets on the rear window when you are driving.

Soft-close tailgate on the W124 estate, and the automatic bonnet stay.
