Hi,

I've got a w211 2003 320 Cdi. While driving to work today I noticed the power was dropping and it felt like there was no turbo. When I put my foot down it just took ages to accelerate.

I've read other posts and most people say there cars gone into "limp mode", but I was still able to get upto 70 mph so not sure if that is limp mode.

Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Thanks

Most probable item to cause Limp mode and slow acceleration is the Air flow meter or MAF...Try pulling in switching off and restarting.. and full power should be returned for a while...
You need a star diagnostic done and if the MAF, a new MB one fitted...
The cheaper ones from the Motor factors dont always last or perform properly..

2005 CL500.
Limp mode limits revs to 3000rpm, that's more than enough to get you to 70.

This age/model had a promlem with the waste gate jamming, we changed hundreds of turbos when they came out, could be one which slipped through the net!!

Thanks for all your help guys.

When I drove home yesterday evening I booted it like crazy. This morning the car drive like normal, but with my luck it's going to happen again . The car drove like normal today.

I'll try to get a star diagnostic done and investigate the waste gate jamming.

I had the same problem wit my car, try to check the water, air and oil pipes to see if there is any leak. One of the pipe was gone on my car, changed it and it works fine.
