I have a c300h hybrid car. I had a problem with it before as well that i rarely went to the batteries and stayed mostly on the engine. I got it fixed from Mercedes, they said it needed a software update. After some time i got a letter from Mercedes for a recall and when i got my car back it started to jerk on the gear shifts and also the same problem as before ( staying on engine). Mercedes said there recall was not in any way related to this issue and nothing they did to the car could trigger this issue so they charged me £300 odd quid to fix God knows what. Now again after few months my car has started running mostly on engine and converting to batteries less often. Can somebody please guide me with this issue? I just dont want to get ripped of from Mercedes.

My previous merc was a 300h and it behaved much the same when it was cold , I still got the electric motor assist on acceleration but wouldn’t set off or drop into electric only . Mine also had a issue with the software switching the engine to electric , it ended up at the dealers for 9 1/2 weeks and had a software patch designed for it at Milton Keynes

How much did they charge you for it? Did it sort the issue out completely after it?

The suffer with electric vacuum pump issues which will cut out the hybrid element if faulty.
Is there any way to know what the issue really is exactly and what can be the expected costs?

Depends on whether your specialist has Xentry diagnosis connected to Germany. Some do and some dont. We do, which makes fault finding a whole lot easier for us, but its a costly investment not all specialists can afford.

Where are you based? Perhaps we can recommend someone.

Hey, had the same issue and it was resolved by the replacement of the main battery (not the hybrid battery, don't worry). Hopefully your issue was/ is just as straightforward
