Sure have. A Kia EV6 RWD and love it. It's great to drive and it looks superb, arguably one of the best looking of available EV's so far. It sure draws attention. The interior is cool with lots of tech - a bit too much at times. Seat comfort very adjustable and good. Economy runs to around 15kwh for 100 km on city motoring. Haven't done a long trip. People blame the car for lack of charging facilities but it's hardly the cars fault. Infrastructure will come in time. Penalty of being an early adopter I guess. Home charging is a breeze just using a 15amp plug. Charge from 50 to 80% once a week or so and costs me about $5.50 on off peak power and that covers about 150km. I peruse the Benz forum and look at all the hassles we have with ICE cars - I know, I used to have one. I see the EV as a very simple beast without all the sensors for EGR, DPF, black death, gearbox failures etc etc and look at the EV - none of that. A lot said about batteries and cost of replacement. Tech has reached a stage that such an event is highly unlikely and degradation is minimal. Lots of folk getting to 100,000km with around 10% degrad. Motors have no servicing and virtually last forever. No clutches or gearboxes. MOT? No pollution standards to adhere to. Brakes last forever as regen does 98% of all braking. I could go on..... I do understand folk that do not have home charging facilities would be disadvantaged. Doubt I would buy one under those circumstances. Too much hassle. A range of around 500km, or 450 to be safe, is plenty for me. It's a rarity for me to drive those distances any more. Not young and silly now  So long as suitable charging facilities are available, I see no downsides worth considering. Most critics have not owned one and some not even driven one but they know it all, don't they? Hearsay mostly.
Yeh, but it's still an EV.:shock:o_O:oops::rolleyes:

Only joking, great write up, glad your enjoying your Kia. :)

I’m sorry, but I haven’t read all the posts on this topic (come on there is 48 pages, give me a break) so atm I have 3 cars, MB GLA 200d, Porsche Boxster and a MG ZS EV…which I dislike and now just sits on the drive, looking sorry for itself, so why do I dislike the MG, don’t really know, build quality isn’t great, I don’t like the iPad (or whatever you want to call it) is much to low, it has heated seats, but it very hot or off, at least the MB has 3 settings, it doesn’t come with an electric boot opening, what I did like about it, it has a usb port by the rear view mirror for dashcam, it has a very big sunroof (don’t come with them now) but so has my GLA, it was very quiet and don’t think there was anything that left me at the lights, I also found the MG dealership very, very poor, it did around 260 miles to a full charge, I would say, if you just potter around town, then a EV is ok, I don’t, I have in the pasted run my daughter to standsed from Coventry and it just about did a round trip on a full charge, so what’s the problem..you ask? When I get back, if I get an emergency phone call I have no charge to get anywhere (Porsche is only taxed in the summer months) so I would have to find a super charger and sit there for 1/2 hour to get a bit of juice in it and I didn’t want to go anywhere that I had to stop for a long coffee while I wait for it to charge at motorway services, that was why I went back to a diesel MB GLA, much nicer place to sit and if I need to fill it up, it’s a five minute job, not a 7 hour over night job…sorry gone on abit..

One person's opinion, doesn't mean MGs
are pants. And yes MGs are Chinese.

Typical BS, no doubt organised by the petroleum industry. Anything to stave off the inevitable. If there is any substance, surely it is the responsibility of the tyre manufacturers to look at changes to the materials used to produce tyres. Amazing how such a "major" problem suddenly comes to light to discredit EV's. The "problem" has been there for many decades. One other point - the comment about more brake pad wear and particulates produced as a result of greater weight.......have they not been told about regenerative braking? My pads have to be deliberately used briefly once a week to prevent rust buildup. They are rarely used otherwise. Kind of makes one wonder who proposed and financed such a "report".

Lots of people don't like the feeling of regenerative braking and turn it down or off (dependent on the vehicle) Tyre and friction polution have always been there but more so due to the heavier weight of EV's with regen turned off - and heavier tyre wear. Tyre manufacturers use carbon black to colour tyres which is a carcinogen.

I'm sure batteries will get lighter as new technologies develop and recharge times will also come down (subject to the UK Grid being able to supply it - don't hold your breath on that one) Hopefully, synthetic fuels will come in as well to give the people a choice rather than being served a fait au complet - which people naturally resist, particularly when it is linked to the net zero scam.

Totally agree, it's funny all of a sudden we are hearing about this, so they can point the very boring finger at EVs. If it's true, and I doubt it, why haven't I heard about it before, with all the SUV Monster's
that's been knocking about for years.
Total and utter Bollox.

GOV document from 2019 asked for research into determining PM from vehicles and stated that no exact research had been carried out on EV's as yet but general principles that the heavier cars produce more. Just another case of the Gov pushing schemes where they have not researched the impact and consequences eg the diesel vehicle push

Interestingly, exhaust PM is stated to be already lower than brake/tyre wear...

Here's the Gov doc : https://www.gov.uk/government/calls...e-wear-call-for-evidence-summary-of-responses
