SLK 230 R170 Electric Seat Fault

The seat controls on my SLK230 R170 have intermittent fault
Sometimes none of seat controls on either seat work
ie seats cannot be moved backwards and forwards or any of the other adjustments when car used first thing in morning
Sometimes they work when engine as been running for 5 or 10 minutes
Sometimes they work if door locked and unlocked once or twice
Car is often used for short journeys - Could Battery be below threshold voltage for seats to operate?

Major issue as wife needs seat full forward and I need seat full back so I cannot get into the car if she has been driving!

Needless to say seats performed flawlessly on the three occasions I have taken the car to my Mercedes specialist

Any ideas?

Yes its a type of convenience relay, a well known fault, the seats work sometimes.

I will take a look at your other thread shortly.
