Washed the CLK

Spent hours in the sun rewiring the CLK dashcam from where it was wired to the glovebox light (which didn’t work because of it)
I moved the wiring to the back of the cigarette lighter socket under the radio , it took ages mainly because I really don’t know what I’m doing . Finally got it all back together and it works with ignition on . Just got to tidy all the wiring up behind the glovebox and carpet tomorrow .
I now know a lot more about removing fascia panels and the gearstick surround than I did yesterday

Looks good buddy , I might have to wash ,paint and proof my CLK roof if the weather looks this good for the week .

Put my tools away from yesterdays dashcam rewire . Had a horror moment when I did a final test , engine running on the drive , after a few minutes power shut off to the camera .
After a few minutes of panic , I started to wonder if both doors being open could cause this (it’s wired into the back of the ciggy lighter socket )
I went for a 20+ minute drive to test this and the camera stayed on , so maybe the doors being open is an issue ?? Anyone know the reason ?

Spent at least 3 hours washing sand off my new car. I didn't see anything on the news or weather report but the southerly winds over the past couple of days must have brought sand up from the Sahara. The first hosing down had no effect. The second hose was left on the car to soak in and then hosed off again. After this there were still smears on the body which were once again washed off and wiped off with an e cloth. I'll be buying a cover and watching the weather forecast more carefully in future!

We have got some of that here in Suffolk. The car is covered in the stuff. I can't clean the car until Sunday and its not a job I look forward to, Have to be very careful with sand.

My mother lives in southern Spain, they have had 2 sand storms in the past week or so. The first one left about half an inch of sand everywhere!

Washed the Sahara sand off and figured out how to remove the back seat bases ready for some leather restoration. Also adjusted the boot lid so it was back in line with the body instead of sticking up.

Gave the CLK roof a coat of some Renovo Black paint , don’t tell anyone but I had to water it down slightly because I had less than I thought .
Just off to coat with Fabsil Gold now as there might be some drizzle tomorrow

Had the front brake discs and pads changed this morning. Brembo discs with textar pads.

Ordered Brembo Disks and pads for the front with a Pagid sensor. £133.86 from ECP all in, being fitted next Wed

Also got a MANN Frecious Pollen Filter, will fit later
