2007 C220 CDI iPod connector

I bought one of these from eBay as suggested (Genuine Mercedes A001827004 Media Interface)
Unfortunately, it didn't connect to my iPod lead in the glove box (which was factory fitted). It was completely the wrong plug.
So, I then bought one of the these ....3.5mm AUX Audio Jack Cable to 30 Pin Adaptor Converter For iPod iPhone 4s Dock Which unfortunately also doesn't fit the factory fitted iPod lead in the car.
I have checked the 30 pin lead in the car and it definitely plugs into a 30 pin iPod (I had an old iPod in a drawer that I could test with).

I want to connect my Nextbase DAB/Bluetooth unit via the stereos auxiliary (i.e. 30 pin).

Does anyone know what plug/lead I need to go from the Mercedes fitted 30 pin to a 3.5mm aux plug?

You will have to remove the stereo and plug it into the back

Youtube had vids how to do it as it's a bit fiddly
