A class indicator flashing purple

Hi there,

i’ve just recently brought a used 2017 a class and had to replace the driver side headlight unit. However the problem is that it all works fine but the indicator flashes purple and i have no clue why. The left indicator functions as normal and i made sure to buy the exact same part that fits my car but for some reason the drl indicator flashes purple. Does anybody know why or have a solution for this? Any help will be appreciated !

I would guess the car which you bought the replacement headlight unit had swapped out indicator bulbs, sounds the obvious but just check the bulb that's in there currently

My A class is not that modern, are you saying that the indicator is built into the DRL.
What colour is the DRL when not indicating.?

The light almost looks like a day running light LED, perhaps its wired incorrectly ?

yes so the indicator and drl are the same light. When running drl it functions fine with the right white colour but when indicating it flashes purple instead of yellow

erm, does any country have purple indicators !!!!!
Was this a new unit you bought, if so i would return it as faulty.

where did you buy it. take it back and bin it and get an original.
