E250 Coupe 2010 W207 no kickdown power

yesterday i noticed that the step-down power increase was not working & also used the paddle change option to drop a gear without the usual increase or turbo kick as i'm used to & expect. The car accelerates smoothly still & there are no warning lights on the dashboard. I tried the auto gearbox variations C, S, M & the same issue throughout.

i don't want to randomly give the car over to a garage without few pointers on the kind of initial checks to carryout 1st.

Could be many things and needs the codes read. Sounds like turbo actuator but like I said get the codes read.

Oh and welcome to the forum...

To be fair, you need a good Merc indy who knows these cars, has a proper code reader and knows how to read codes, That's where your fear of randomly giving your car to someone with no pointers comes from, its their job!

Buying an iCarSoft reader was probably one of the best investments I have made recently. Being able to read codes gives you a chance to make a value judgement on self-fix/independent/dealer for any problems.

I wouldn't go doing any checks without reading the fault codes first. Could be something as simple as a split turbo pipe or something far more complicated.
