Hey guys,

My Mercedes W203 2002 C270 is not getting to 90 degrees celcius, even after a long drive.
I ordered a new mercedes thermostat but I have some questions before I get to changing it.

Do i need to drain the coolant? Or can i just put a cloth beneath it?
I read on different forums that its recommended to take out the oil filter, do i need to drain the oil before doing this?

Greetings,
Job.

Park facing uphill. Drain the header tank with a hose or turkey baster, you won't lose any coolant at all , maybe half a pint . Removing the oil filter top makes it an easier job , make sure to cover the hole with a t towel or something.
