Now, when I first saw the CLS Shooting Brake, I just thought it was another niche created by MB as that have done in the past, e.g. the R-Class (?). Also, when I first saw it, I didn't think it looked that good.

However, it has grown on me. I think it now looks excellent. The more I see it online, the more I like; not to mention that wood floor in the boot as an option. I really like that.

Is it just me? Or do others think this? What's your view?

No, not just you - Steve (ST4) would like to have its babies if he could ;-) Seriously though he happily have it as his next car if he could. Can't blame him, it's a unique blend of performance and practicality with AMG style  What more could you want or need? Admittedly I'm still not quite there yet - hankering after an AMG CL as my next one, but if I ever did get enough disposable cash together then as a 'family car' I think it would be a hoot to say the least :D

Cheers,
Mark

Words cannot describe how badly I want one and the lengths I'll go to ensure I have one.

The CLS will drive like a C class but has the trim of an S class and with estate levels of practicality.

I am it's biggest fan!!!

I have just waited several years for CLS prices to fall into my range and took ownership of a gorgeous 2008 model 4 weeks ago.
I guess I have another 4 years to wait but I WILL own a shooting brake CLS !
Just as the lines of the original CLS completely captivated me, the shooting brake has done it again.

I've driven two 219 CLS cars. Much stiffer body shell so very nice to drive. The 218 is stiffer than the E class on which it's based so will be a joy on the road and as an SB more than the car you could ever need or want:)

I like the rear of it.... I am not a fan of the very flat (jaguar like) front grill ... Would have liked to have seen the front with a more sleek line...

I personally think it is pure porn on 4 wheels!!
Now, if someone would like a kidney or liver in exchange i'd gladly offer one up. The fact it has 5 seats makes it perfect. I love the CLS, but impractical with 4 seats.........5 and tailgate........hmmmmmmmm oooooooooo argggggghhhhhhhhhh

sorry...........

where was I ?????

ahhhhhhhhhh yessssssssss

lol

I've had a good luck around the 350 in Manchester a couple of times, I like the looks a great deal and if it had been available earlier this year I might have gone for one instead of my 911. Not sure if I'd go to one from my 911 but I like it enough to think about it.

I passed one on the autoroute heading toward Calais yesterday morning and I couldn't work out what it was - I thought it said CLS on the back but I thought "How can that be?" so I was going to post on here.

Anyway - it looked excellent! Thumbs up from me.

Google is your friend

Google??? Thats an even worse name for a car! :)

Just looked it up. But to someone who doesnt know the background to the name I still say its a strange. But there are worse names for cars. Renault Wind anyone?:)

To me Shooting Brake sounds as if there is something 'wrong' with the car.

Lovely car all the same :)
