OK. Firstly I apologise for the long winded nature of my post.
I have a 2010 CLS Grand Edition with 108k miles on it. A few weeks back I was driving normally at around 30mph. I stopped at a junction. Accelerated quite quickly into the road and I felt a strange vibration in the throttle pedal and my steering wheel combined with a low frequency vibration sound. This continued and as I stopped at the next junction I felt as though the engine was ready to stall as it was vibrating rather violently. Enough to see the bonnet shake. Then all of a sudden I heard a loud popping noise and it returned to normal. It ran perfectly for a while until I accelerated hard again and don't you know it...the vibration came back. Only this time it stayed. My mechanic had a look and removed the air filter he had previously fitted for me. Checked all the hose lines and vacuum lines. Re installed the air filter. And it was fine. For about a week. Then it started again. I put the car into a MB specialist who got the code 2032-1. O2 sensor upstream of Kat volts too high. They changed the sensor and I collected the car and hey presto. It was fine again. For about 12 miles. As soon as I gave some hard acceleration it came back again. Dare I say not as severe as before the sensor was changed but still really bad. I got a full scan done. And It passed twice no errors!!! Doing some research this violent shaking can be caused by a rich fuel mixture however there is no smoke from the exhaust. Or distinctive fuel smell....I have been wondering if it could be a clogged injector? Has anyone got any idea of what may be going on? Again today I started the car for the 1st time in around 4 days. It was shaking like a battery hen ....though when driving the severe shaking dissappears but a higher frequency vibration can be felt in the floor pan and steering. As I was driving after around 3 miles the car settled again. Back to normal. No shake. Running sweet as a nut. I had 2 tyres put on. Then proceeded to go for a run. As I was pulling onto a dual carriageway I had to put the foot down to exit the slip road. And.....it came back again. Always after the initial burst acceleration. It still has the problem right now and also I forgot to mention when starting the car it can clearly be noticed that the problem still exists even before the engine fires up. I'm at my wits end tbh. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
