W210 E240 1999

hi Mercs,
this is karim / i have w210 E240 with gearbox # 609
but after searching and trying 7 gearboxes .
i decided to change the gearbox that was for E320 with another number.
did anyone tried so?
another issue. the E320 gearbox comes with 1 electronic plug. and my gearbox is with 2 plugs.
how to solve this.

Yours is likely an early box with the reversing plug switch on it. I think you will need to swap that across.

do you think this E320 gearbox will work on E240 after amending the 2 plugs in to 1 plug especially the base of shift case is different .?

Its hard to tell, what is your original gearbox number and what replacement number have you bought?

my original gearbox 722609 ( E240 )
and the new one 722618 ( E320)
